A Tribute To Family ~ by Michelle A. Moran

family poems 5

I don't know when it started,
Or how it all began.
But God created families,
As only our Lord can.
He was teaching what it means,
To love, honor, and obey.
He wanted a strong bond,
That we don't see too much today.
He wanted someone to hold us,
And show respect for others.
He wanted someone who'd be gentle,
And so he created mothers.
He wanted someone strong,
A support filled with love.
And so he created fathers,
Sent from heaven up above.
Brothers and sisters came next,
With that, an instant friend.
Someone to look up to,
Someone on who to depend.
When he put them all together,
He was amazed at what he'd done.
He had created a family,
Mother, father, daughter, son.
But look at the family,
Created by only two.
How many we've become,
And all because of you.
We have a lot to be thankful for,
The memories through the years.
The many times together,
Full of laughter, full of tears.
I don't know where we'd be today,
If it weren't for the two of you.
To show us strength, support, and love,
Like only the two of you can do.

Dear Grandma ~ by Candi Kay

family poems 6

Dear Grandma, I miss you so much!
I wish I could hug you, even a little touch.
You meant so much to me,
I knew you loved me too, even though you could not see.
I wish you were here to talk to,
Because that is all I used to do.
Was listen to you for hours talk,
And I still remember that short walk
That me and you took down the road.
It meant so much to me, even though it never showed.
Little did I know, It would be the last walk we took.
And I still remember the way you look,
The way you acted, they way you cared.
How you laughed and how you dared.
I respected you so much for that,
Even when I was a brat.
"I love you" was the last thing you said,
Before you took your final rest in bed.
But I never got a chance to respond
That I loved you too, we had a special bond.
I never wanted to say goodbye,
But I know I'll meet you again, when I die.

Without a Mother ~ By Matthew David Ward

family poems 7

I wish I had a mother
A father who cares more
Someone I could turn to
In life's thunderous storms

I wish I had more hope
Instead of these dark beliefs
More positive influences
That will not just up and leave

I can honestly say
A child without a mother is lost
For the mother teaches value
While the father teaches cost

Grandma, I Remember ~ by Brenda Metz

family poems 8

All the things you used to do
Cooking dinner on Sunday
Making homemade stew
Sitting for hours
Telling us tales
Of how poor Jonah
Was swallowed by the whale
Working in your garden
Pulling all the weeds
Wiping sweat from your brow
And gently planting seeds
You are a special Grandma
One that we adore
You taught us right from wrong
And so very much more.

Grandma I remember
When you would sing a song
You would encourage
Us all to sing along
And you would sit and rock
And read the Bible
While we would play
I can still see it
As you held it in your hands
Well worn from all your reading
And learning of God's plans
Grandma, I remember
Don't worry about me
You taught us all so well
Years ago upon your knee.

Suddenly Loved

family poems 1

Living in a hazy world,
With brief specks of clarity.
Dwelling only in my mind,
With scary moments of sanity.
It's nice to know that when I go,
Somebody might just miss me.
Cause in the hatred all around,
There is one spring of purity.
All this time I felt alone,
That it's odd to be loved so suddenly.

I love my family so much ~ Mahfooz Ali

family poems 2

To be apart of a family like mine
is so divine
where love is shown
hurt is shared
our love for each other is never impaired

we talk
we laugh
we cry
but we are a family
and we do it all together
for as a family
we do it all as one

you hurt one
you hurt all
and as a family unit
we will all stand tall
for we are family
a family full of strength
a family full of love
a family no one can touch
that, s why I love my family so much.

family poems 3

Breathe the smoke filled air
Wishing you could just care, enough
To see you're all I need
Waiting patiently for nothing,
but you keep waiting to be someone else
What is happening?

Mother may I cry upon your shoulder..?
While you wait inside the car
crying softly
broken bottles filled with pain
and crushing fists aiming at mirrors.
Were all turning insane.

Where did the rest of us go
off to be new again.
I guess this is the best I can pretend
There's no faking were all breaking down
under the cold ground
When I die, die with me.

Mother, Why are we screaming
At faces we used to know
Hello past please come back
The future's killing us slow.

My family ~ by Dineo Malwale

family poems 4

My family, my inspiration
My family, my motivator to the
Success of my dreams and wishes.
The ruler to my territory, the president
To my world, the key to my door.
My family, my motivator.

My family, my blood.
My family, my identity,
The identity of my mother, my father,
My sister, my brother, my grannies, my aunts,
And my uncles, and my wife, and children to be.
My family, my identity.

My family, my family
With you everything is possible,
With you family shelter is there,
Food is there, clothes are here
Because am wearing them.
My family, my family.

My family, my mother
My mother of reality, who
Gave life to a young boy and
Fed him during noon and light,
My mother, who is my doctor
To my pains.
My mother a wife to her husband,
My mother a mother to her children.
My mother of reality.

My family, my father
My father of rules, faith and believe.
The king, who rules his sons and daughters
To be the best, the king who sleeps last after
The family sleeps.
My father a husband to his wife
My father a father to his children.
My family my father.

My family, my siblings
My sister, the first leaf to
Blossom from the family tree,
The first that arrived in 1986(18th of August) .
My family my sister.
My brother, the second man who
Joint the family tree in 1989 day of
29 January.
My family, my brother.
Myself, the third and last
Man to this family tree, born
1991 day of 31 December.
My family, myself.
And my little sister, the fourth and last
Female to blossom from this
Family tree, the year 1998, the
Month of January, the day of 31th.
My family, my little sister
And that’s my family, my siblings.

Family where, and where would I have
Been without you family, family
I thank you.
